The Forestry Incentives Program (FIP)

The Forestry Incentives Program is a cooperative program between the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the US Forest Service. FIP's purpose is to enhance the productivity of private, non-industrial forestland by providing financial and technical assistance for timber stand improvement and reforestation; i.e. site preparation and seedling planting.

Funds provided through this program will cover 65% of the total project cost. The program will fund projects up to 1000 acres and up to 5000 acres if there is a significant public benefit. Priority in California are lands that have been burned by wildfire.
