1933Dodge * This is a 1933 Dodge ranger's pickup. It was used in Monterey County. The man on the left is State Forest Ranger Francis Raymond who later went on to become State Forester. * 640 x 412 * (70KB)

1939tanker * A 1939 Tanker X and former CDF Model A firetruck. The second firefighter actually straddled the tank cowboy-style and hung on for dear life according to retired CDFer Jack Burke. * 640 x 384 * (60KB)
oldtruckandhorse * This photo was taken in 1943 on Cosskie Ridge in Humboldt County on a control burn. The truck is about a 1940 GMC. It was called a climbing fool, having a low, well distributed center of gravity. It carried 300 gallons of water, fire tools, hose, and only two men in the cab. The driver was CDFer Curly Wright.
