CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba Placer Unit
The CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit is located in the Sierra Foothills northeast of Sacramento protecting approximately 880,000 acres including the counties of Sutter and Sierra.
The Unit staffs 26 fire stations, an air attack base, and a conservation camp. These facilities spread from Marysville, in the valley grasslands of Yuba County, through the gold country of Placer and Nevada Counties, eastward to the Sierras. Additionally, the Unit provides various levels of fire protection service through cooperative agreements with three counties and six fire districts.
