Project Learning Tree
Project Learning Tree (PLT) is a national program designed to provide educators with curriculum that can be used with other school programs to reach children and broaden their understanding of the environment around them. PLT uses creativity, investigation and experimentation to teach kids about the importance of such environmental issues as our trees, forests, wildlife, and fire ecology.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is pleased to be the PLT sponsor in this State. The number of educators trained in PLT workshops in throughout the State has consistently increased since the program's inception. In fact, over 23,825 California educators have joined the PLT team since 1988. CAL FIRE is proud of that accomplishment and encourages you to view the Project Learning Tree website , and to contact CAL FIRE for additional information.
