Situation Summary

Fire behavior was moderate overnight. Onshore winds have increased along the Big Sur Coast. The onshore winds have increased humidity along the coast. Similar conditions are anticipated for Tuesday. Firefighters will continue strengthening control lines and mopping-up hot spots.

Evacuation orders remain in place.

Evacuation Center(s): The Red Cross is issuing hotel vouchers.  Carmel Middle School evacuation center has closed.
Road Closures: Highway 1 is closed from Garrapata Creek to Point Sur. Essential services will be allowed to access Big Sur between 12:00pm and 5:00pm Tuesday.
