CAL FIRE Forest Health Program Partners
CAL FIRE’s Forest Health Program works with local partners to improve forest health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in forests throughout California.
No single management activity is going to solve the wide range of threats to California’s forests. And no one agency or organization alone can achieve the pace-and-scale of forest restoration work needed across all lands in California. Fostering healthy forests calls for a balanced approach using a variety of tools and involving partnerships and the federal, state and local levels.
Forest Legacy Program
The intent of the Forest Legacy Program is to protect environmentally important forest land threatened with conversion to non-forest uses.
Forest Health Research Program
The intent of the Forest Health Research Program is to identify outstanding questions, prioritize needs, and fund sound scientific studies that support forest landowners, resource agencies, and fire management organizations in California and to future the goals of the California Forest Carbon Plan.
