San Benito & Monterey Unit:
CAL FIRE BEU Lifts All Anzar Fire Evacuation Orders and Warnings
San Benito County – All remaining Anzar Fire Evacuation Orders and Warnings are lifted.
Residents should remain vigilant in the burn area. Fire and utility personnel are still working in the area. Please drive with extreme caution.
Burned trees present a danger to the public. Burned trees can fall with little to no warning. Burning stumps create ash pits, which can easily collapse. Always stay on trails when walking in a burn area.
Incident Update: 7/24/22 AM
Fog rolled in over the Anzar Fire late Saturday afternoon, which helped with fire suppression. With cooperation from PG&E and Graniterock , crews continue to remove hazard trees to allow for repopulation. Firefighters continue to strengthen control lines and mop-up hot spots.
