Current Situation
Situation Summary
Ground crews continued to strengthen direct control lines along the fire perimeter today. Suppression repair plans have been finalized, and repair operations are now underway.
All evacuation orders have been lifted, though evacuation warnings remain within the fire perimeter. The Mono County Public Health Department has issued a closure for McGee Creek residents due to a local public health emergency. Incident personnel continue to assess community needs during repopulation.
Saturated soils and incoming heavy precipitation and snowfall may increase runoff and threaten previously identified values at risk, creating additional challenges for crews.
Utility providers continue working to restore essential services throughout the affected area.
Updated perimeter mapping, using a combination of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and ground-based assessments, has resulted in a reduction in total acreage.
