Current Situation

Situation Summary

The fire started near the Cherry Glen Extension Road on the north side of I-80 in Vacaville and burned uphill to the north. It was burning parallel with Pleasants Valley Road and quickly reached 20 acres with a few structures threatened on the 6000 block of Pleasants Valley Road. A bulldozer quickly constructed a control line along the right (eastern) flank, but the left flank was the side that posed challenges. CAL FIRE airtankers and the Boggs Copter 612 started making retardant and water drops on the left flank to help protect homes along Pleasants Valley as well as at the head of the fire traveling north. Forward progress was stopped by 2:31 p.m. and it burned a total of 49.12 acres.
