Current Situation

Situation Summary

Crews remain actively engaged in suppression repair across the fire area, while also continuing mop-up operations in deep juniper duff where heat remains stubbornly persistent.

The thick duff layer and heavy ground fuels are slowing full extinguishment efforts, requiring careful work to locate and cool smoldering pockets. Despite these challenges, containment continues to improve steadily.

All evacuation warnings remain in place as a precaution, and resources will stay committed through the evening to ensure continued progress and public safety.

Firefighters will focus overnight on securing the perimeter, addressing residual heat, and beginning to backhaul excess equipment from completed divisions.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
