Current Situation
Situation Summary
While containment continues to increase, significant work remains on the incident due to deep-seated heat in heavy juniper duff.
Fire crews are still actively engaged across the fire footprint, focusing on locating and extinguishing hot spots that could pose a threat if not fully addressed. Suppression repair is also ongoing to mitigate impacts from initial attack and ensure the landscape is stabilized.
Though the fire’s forward spread has been stopped, continued interior smoldering and the potential for flare-ups mean resources will stay committed until the area is cold and secure.
All evacuation warnings remain in place.
Firefighters today will continue mop-up, backhaul operations, and repair work, with eyes on pushing containment further.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
