Status Update

Situation Summary

The fire started around 2:45 p.m. and the wind drove it through the rolling English Hills that sit to the east of Pleasants Valley, burning through grass. Forward progress of the fire was stopped by 3:45 p.m. after an effective attack from ground and air resources. The evacuation warning that was in place for Zones SOL-2788 and SOL-2790 were lifted at approximately 4:30 p.m.

At the height of the fire fight, there were 17 total engines, three hand crews, two dozers, four water tenders, four air tankers, one helicopter and one air tactical aircraft on the incident. Total personnel from CAL FIRE and local government agencies that responded was approximately 125. 

Four engines and a water tender remained on the fire overnight Friday into Saturday morning, working on increasing containment and extinguishing hot spots. Those efforts will continue Saturday.
