Current Situation
Situation Summary
Fire crews initially responded to three separate vegetation fires. The smallest of the fires forward rate of spread has been stopped. The two remaining fires have merged into one. In total, approximately 50 acres have burned, across all three fires. Containment is currently at 20%.
The fire is burning in steep, rocky terrain with medium brush and annual grasses. The fire activity has decreased and is burning at a slow rate of spread. Crews worked through the night, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, building containment lines.
Today crews are going to be continuing to construct and strengthen containment lines, as well as searching for and extinguishing hotspots, within the fire's perimeter.
Evacuation warnings and orders remain in effect.
