Current Situation

Situation Summary

Fire personnel are at the scene of a 26-acre Vegetation Fire in the East Palermo foothills, southwest of the City of Oroville. Initial dispatch came out at 12:54 p.m. A full first alarm dispatch was ordered, along with CAL FIRE Aircraft, Crews, and Bulldozers. Numerous structures were initially threatened, but the first arriving ground resources quickly mitigated the threat and then switched to perimeter control. Forward progress was stopped at approximately 1:50 p.m. The fire is holding at 26 acres. Ground resources will be committed for the next four to six hours, patrolling and mopping up hot spots.
