Last night crews made great progress on gaining containment. Two fire engines and a water tender will remain on scene today to continue extensive mop-up operations due to deep juniper duff. Crews will strengthen containment lines and closely monitor fire activity, ensuring it stays within controlled boundaries.

CAL FIRE is at scene of a 23 acre vegetation fire near Harry Cash Rd and Frontier Dr. in the Mt. Shasta Vista Subdivision, Montague area. The fire is burning in juniper grassland. The forward rate of spread has been stopped.
