The fire is approximately 17.3 acres, and 100% contained. All resources have been released and crews will be monitoring the fire area over the next couple of days.

The Chick Fire is now 60% contained.

Firefighters countinue to make great progress on containment. Resources are expected to remain at scene for the next couple of hours.

At approximately 3:07 PM the forward progress of the fire was stopped. Firefighters are at scene working on strengthening containment lines and putting out hotspots at this time. Air resources have been released.

Evacuation Order: An immediate threat to life. This is an order by law enforcement to leave immediately. The area is lawfully closed to public access.
Evacuation Warning: A potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately.
Advisory: Residents should be aware of the situation and be prepared to evacuate if conditions worsen.
Shelter in Place: Go inside the nearest safe building, lock all doors and windows, and stay there until local authorities give the "all clear".
Evacuation Order Lifted: Officials have determined the immediate danger has passed. Residents may return home but should remain alert for any changes in conditions or updated instructions.
Normal: No current threats to life or property.
Red Flag Warning: National Weather Service Red Flag Warnings indicate warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds that can combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
