Fire is now 100% contained.
San Diego Unit Incident Management Team has transitioned off the incident.
Border 6 is contained to 95%. Overnight, firefighters experienced another marine layer pushing into the mountains, increasing relative humidity and helping solidify and aid fire containment.
Today, firefighters will continue to patrol and mop up any hotspots, and fire suppression repairs will continue.
The Border 6 Fire is 90% contained.
Crews assigned to the Border 6 Fire have begun suppression repair operations, rehabilitating existing roads and backhauling debris and equipment used during firefighting efforts.
Increased precipitation overnight further moderated fire activity and allowed firefighters to make additional progress. As a result, containment has increased to 85%.
Fire personnel will continue suppression repair, patrol, and mop-up operations to secure the fire perimeter and minimize impacts to the surrounding area

Infrared mapping has been completed on the Border 6 Fire. Total acreage is 2,617 acres, including 1,625 acres in the United States and 992 acres in Mexico.
The fire continues to burn in areas of dense, dry vegetation. Ground and aerial resources are making steady progress, reinforcing containment lines and conducting mop-up operations on remaining hot spots.

New incident in San Diego County - Border 6 Fire, is now 20 acres. Mexico actively fought the fire on their side until sunset and they are on the line as of this morning. As of last night the fire crossed the Tijuana River Drainage into the US, on the east side of Marron Valley.
