Firefighters continue to make good progress on the Loomis Fire as crews worked throughout the fire area to locate and extinguish remaining hot spots. Mop-up operations remain ongoing to ensure residual heat is fully extinguished.
Personnel are also continuing to strengthen and improve containment lines around the fire perimeter, reinforcing existing control lines and further increasing the overall security of the incident.
Thunderstorms and lightning moved through the area yesterday, resulting in a few new fire starts. Ground and air resources responded quickly and were able to rapidly contain and extinguish those fires, preventing further spread.
Fire personnel continue to reinforce containment lines and extinguish remaining hot spots within the fire perimeter. Dozers and hand crews are also constructing a blackline around the fire to further strengthen containment and reduce the potential for rekindling.
Fire personnel continue to make steady progress on the Loomis Fire. Crews are actively locating and extinguishing hot spots within the fire perimeter while continuing mop-up operations to eliminate any remaining heat.
Firefighters are also strengthening and improving control lines around the fire's perimeter to further secure the incident and increase containment.
Thunderstorms continue to move through the area, bringing the potential for lightning. Overnight rainfall created favorable conditions for suppression efforts, allowing firefighters to make continued progress in strengthening containment lines and extinguishing remaining heat.
Dozers and hand crews have completed containment lines around the entire perimeter of the fire. Firefighters continue to make good progress mopping up and extinguishing areas of interior heat within the fire's boundaries.
Crews are also working to establish blackened containment lines around the entire perimeter to further strengthen and secure the fire.

Fire resources and equipment remain heavily present throughout the area. Please use caution, slow down, and watch for firefighters and emergency vehicles working along roadways. Today's weather brings a slight chance of thunderstorms with breezy southwest to west winds. Dry grasses and other light vegetation remain susceptible to fire activity.
Firefighters made significant progress today despite challenging, steep, and difficult-to-access terrain. Crews worked aggressively to strengthen containment lines, increasing overall containment of the fire. Firefighters also quickly caught and contained a couple of spot fires, keeping the incident within its current footprint.
Tomorrow's weather is expected to bring breezy, southwest to west winds, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms developing after 1:00 p.m. Relative humidity is forecast to increase into the mid-60% range, which will help moderate fire behavior and aid suppression efforts by adding moisture to the fire area.
