Current Situation

Situation Summary

Ground resources and night flying aircraft made significant progress on the fire, increasing containment to 5%. Today, fire personnel will continue strengthening control lines and working to complete hose lays around the fire to improve suppression efforts. Favorable weather conditions are expected to provide an advantage as crews continue their work.

Situation Summary

Firefighters made significant progress today despite challenging, steep, and difficult-to-access terrain. Crews worked aggressively to strengthen containment lines, increasing overall containment of the fire. Firefighters also quickly caught and contained a couple of spot fires, keeping the incident within its current footprint.

Tomorrow's weather is expected to bring breezy, southwest to west winds, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms developing after 1:00 p.m. Relative humidity is forecast to increase into the mid-60% range, which will help moderate fire behavior and aid suppression efforts by adding moisture to the fire area.
