Resources will continue mop-up operations and extinguishing any remaining hot spots this evening. Crews will remain on scene throughout the night to ensure the fire is fully secured

At approximately 1:45 p.m., resources responded to the report of a vegetation fire in the 22000 block of Old Alturas Road in the Bella Vista area (Company 33). The fire was burning with a moderate rate of spread.

Through an aggressive air and ground attack, firefighters were able to stop the forward progress of the fire at 40 acres. Resources will remain on scene for the next several hours conducting mop-up operations and extinguishing any remaining hot spots.

Please use caution while traveling in the area of Old Alturas Road, as multiple emergency vehicles and firefighting resources are operating in the area.
