Due to more accurate mapping, the fire perimeter has been updated to 135 acres. The fire remains 20% contained, and firefighters continue to strengthen containment lines and extinguish remaining hot spots.

The fire remains approximately 121 acres and is now 20% contained.

Firefighters made excellent progress overnight, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to strengthen containment lines and extinguish hotspots. This morning, day shift crews are briefing and preparing to head to the fireline, where they will continue strengthening containment lines, conducting mop-up operations, and extinguishing remaining hotspots to further increase containment.

This incident demonstrated the effectiveness of the Westside Fuel Break, along with the rapid response of both aerial and ground firefighting resources. Together, these efforts played a key role in limiting fire growth and helping protect nearby communities.

Firefighters continue to make good progress on the Williams Fire. The fire remains 121 acres, and forward progress has been stopped. Crews will remain on scene throughout the night, strengthening containment lines, extinguishing hotspots near the fire’s edge, and working to increase containment.

The Williams Fire is now 120 acres. Agency having jurisdiction will transition to CAL FIRE San Benito-Monterey Unit.

New incident in Monterey County - Williams Fire, is 100 acres with dangerous rate of spread. Threat to structures and road closures in the areas.
