The Woodside Fire remains 95% contained as of Friday morning (8.6.26).
The fire is currently 95% contained
The Woodside Fire is now 90% contained.
The fire is now 85 percent contained. Crews continue mopping up remaining hotspots and securing the fire area.
Four falling modules (teams of sawyers) continue assessing and mitigating hazardous snags and fire-damaged trees, particularly along Highway 1 with Caltrans, helping make the area safer following the fire.
Fire suppression repair is nearly complete, and anticipated to be done on Thursday.

Crews continue work to repair areas impacted by fire suppression operations and return the landscape to a more natural condition. This before-and-after look shows the difference: a dozer line constructed during suppression activities that has since been rehabbed with an excavator.
Fog and cooler temperatures rolled in overnight on the fire, creating favorable conditions for crews continuing with mop-up operations. Resources on the incident will gradually be reduced over the coming days. Tuesday will see 60 total personnel working on the fire, down from 85 the day prior.

Fire suppression repair began Monday. After the flames are out, fire suppression repair teams work diligently to rehabilitate the environment, prevent erosion and repair fences and road infrastructure damaged during firefighting activities. These efforts enable ecosystems to recover, reducing the impact of suppression efforts.

The three spots south of Walsh Landing near Stillwater Cove are contained. Firefighters are now heavily focused on the main body of the fire that stretches from Salt Point State Park down to Ocean Cove, primarily on the eastern edge that bumps up against Highway 1.
Firefighters performed aggressive mop-up operations Sunday where there was minimal fire activity, with primarily only smoldering material being observed. Resources will remain on-scene throughout the night as they continue to work on increasing containment of the fire and extinguishing hotspots inside its perimeter.

The damage inspection process was completed Sunday, revealing four structures were destroyed and three were damaged.
Of the four structures that were destroyed, two were single-family residences and two were utility or miscellaneous structures.
The three that received minor damage included two single-family residences and one miscellaneous structure.
In total, 22 structures were inspected on the incident. Thanks to the sustained efforts by firefighters, numerous structures were successfully saved during the fire (including the one pictured here).

Three falling modules have also been requested to assess and mitigate hazardous snags and fire-damaged trees, improving firefighter safety and reducing hazards in the area after the fire. A falling module is a specialized two-person team of highly qualified, certified chainsaw operators (sawyers) trained to safely remove dangerous, fire-damaged trees on wildfire incidents.
Firefighters will focus on holding the fire within established control lines today. Gusty onshore winds of 10-15 mph are expected along the coast this afternoon and evening.

Today resources will focus on locating hot spots throughout the fire and work on reinforcing the containment lines along Highway 1.

All Evacuation Orders and Warnings have been lifted. Road closures remain in the area due to downed trees and firefighters continuing to mop-up and patrol for hot embers.

Crews will continue working through the night with suppression efforts.
Three helicopters equipped with night-flying capabilities will continue making strategic water drops on the fire, while an additional helicopter provides aerial supervision.

The Woodside Fire remains at approximately 75 acres with 20% containment, and crews are making good progress toward containment. Drift smoke from the fire is making its way into the North Bay. Residents may notice smoky conditions and reduced air quality.
Evacuation Orders and Warnings remain in effect. Residents in affected areas should remain prepared and follow all instructions from emergency officials.
