Incident Updates
The Plains Fire is now 100% contained.
The Plains Incident is holding at approximately 2,500 acres and is 35% contained. Firefighters are making good progress strengthening and improving containment lines.
The Plains Fire is now 20% contained.
Forward progress has been stopped.
The Plains Incident is now approximately 2,500 acres and 15% contained. Firefighters continue working to strengthen containment lines and make progress on the fire.
Crews and air resources are making good progress. The fire is now 1800 acres with 15% containment.
The Plains Incident is estimated at 800 to 1,000 acres near the Kern County line. Crews are making slow progress due to limited access and extended travel times. Additional resources have been requested, including engine strike teams, dozer strike teams, hand crews, water tenders, overhead personnel, and logistical support for food, ice, and water. Resources from Kern County, Paso Robles Fire, Templeton Fire, Atascadero Fire, Santa Margarita Fire, and the Los Padres National Forest are assisting with suppression efforts.
The Plains Fire has grown to 1,200 acres.
