Westbound I-80 is currently CLOSED at the Nevada State Line. There is currently no estimated time of reopening. Motorists should avoid the area, expect significant delays.
CAL FIRE is in Unified Command with the Tahoe National Forest.
Fire is wind driven pushing east on western side of the highway and long-range spotting has been reported. An additional 10 engines, four dozers, and six crews have been ordered. The fire has a potential for 200 acres in size.
An Evacuation Warning has been issued for the following zones:

The Floriston Fire is burning near Interstate 80 and Floriston Way, approximately nine miles northeast of Truckee. The fire is estimated at 20 acres with a dangerous rate of spread and is threatening Interstate 80, the Truckee watershed, and nearby natural resources. Additional air and ground resources have been requested.
